Jim Tibbs, former Boise Police chief, city councilman, state drug czar and unsuccessful candidate for Boise mayor, will announce Tuesday that he'll be on the ballot again this year, this time as a candidate for Ada County commissioner.
Tibbs will be running for the seat currently held by Commissioner Sharon Ullman, who is expected to run for re-election but against Commissioner Vern Bisterfeldt, after redictricting put them in the same district.
After serving in the Boise Police Department, Tibbs served as an investigator for the Canyon County Prosecutor's Office in 2005-2006, was appointed as the state's drug czar by then-Gov. Jim Risch in July 2006, served as a Boise councilman in 2006-2010, and is currently a special investigator for the state police academy.…
